
Gerry Guarnieri
1941 - 1997
Gerald E. Guarnieri was founder and Executive Director of
Shakespeare '70 Inc. With his associate of twenty seven years, Dr. John F. Erath, he built
the company into a year-round stage and Cable Television production organization. A
graduate of Temple University's Communications/ Theater program. He studied acting
with the late William Hickey at HB Studios in New York. He was Chairman Emeritus of
the Trenton Arts Commission and headed their "Eyes on Trenton '85," a city-wide
arts Festival. He served as designer for Artists Showcase Theatre, the Trenton Civic
Opera, the New Jersey Theater Guild, New York's Bell Canto Opera, Theater In time at
Princeton and for Bucks County Playhouse. "Who's Who in The East" credits him
with designing the first "multi-media" production of Mozart's comic opera, The
Magic Flute. He directed the first authorized production "Godspell" in the
region.
