Kay
Schwinn Potucek studied at Milwaukee’s Performing
Arts Center and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BFA in
Directing and Acting. Since arriving in NJ in 1988, she has worked as an actor,
director and teacher in the Mercer County area. Roles with S’70 include
Margery, the country wife (The Country Wife), Ariel (The Tempest),
Charlotte (The Real Thing). She has also been seen onstage at Foundation
Theatre as Yvonne (Love By The Bolt), Frosine (The Miser) and
Fiona (The Marriage) with the TCNJ Performing Arts Season, as Edith Frank
(Diary of Anne Frank) and Nurse Ratched (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s
Nest) with Like 40 Productions, and also with Chalkdust Theatre as Amanda (The
Food Chain). After joining Westwind Repertory Company in 1996 as Cora in
The Iceman Cometh, she became the Marketing Director for Princeton-based
Westwind Rep., and continues to act as well as direct. Westwind credits include
Audrey in As You Like It, director of Summer Shakespeare 2003 (The
Winter’s Tale) and co-director of Musings, Westwind’s first
fundraising effort. Other directing credits include Trojan Women, Ten Little
Indians, The Art of Dining, Charlotte's Web, Phantom Tollbooth, No Sex Please
We’re British and Crimes of the Heart. Currently, Kay teaches theatre
courses for TCNJ and for the Tomato Patch Fine Arts Program at MCCC. She has
done voice work for PBS, and presents workshops for improvisational techniques,
creative dramatics, makeup design, and peer teaching for conferences.
